Ina Gardner is the author of numerous popular American cooking books. Ina also hosts Barefoot Contessa on Food Network. The show has been running since 2002. Ina began to write Nuclear energy and policy documents to the White House. She initially adored the intellectual challenge of her job, but quickly lost interest. Instead she bought Barefoot Contessa, a specialty store for food. After more than 18 years of making her store a huge success, she sold it, and then began creating her first novel. There were many more cookbooks as well as magazine columns that were added. Another success came from her Food Network Television show. Also, Ina sells products including food-related ingredients, storage containers and equipment. Ina has never been to any cookery school or worked in a restaurant and she is completely self-taught. Her name is known for her effortless approach to entertainment and simple cooking. Her most famous recipes are Lemon chicken skeillet-roasted as well as Beatty's Chocolate Cake Mac & Cheese Beef Bouguignon and the Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts & Lemon Bars.
